EXTRACTION SERIES

This series is based on algae bloom & brine cultivated within the extraction process of salt. Salt evaporation ponds use brine concentrate which attract extreme halophiles primarily Haloarchaea that create different hues of pink & sometimes orange. These types of archaea although they show no signs of virulence are still characterized by pathogenic tendencies and colonize parts of the human body. Brine has a high salt concentration and the ions of the salts negatively affect the surrounding ecosystems, the site's soil and vegetation, impairing its ability to produce crops and forage.
